About Dr. Dasgupta & Affective Growth

In psychology, “affect” refers to the immediate experience of bother internal and outward feeling. At Affective Growth, we take this a step further, working with emotions, thoughts, and behaviors while incorporating mindfulness, values, and acceptance. The goal isn’t just change, but creating a life that feels more meaningful, balanced, and truly your own.

Dr. Dasgupta practices from an integrative, third-wave CBT orientation that brings these processes together in a cohesive and flexible way. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology in addition to her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, offering a deeper understanding of the mind–body connection.

Growth can be both meaningful and surprisingly light. “Affective Growth” is a playful nod to “effective”, a common mix-up that feels fitting. Because the process of change, while deep, can also hold moments of ease, humor, and humanity.
